Denise Lewis has partnered with Change4Life and Disney to support its 10 Minute Shake Ups programme.
Change4Life, Public Health England's campaign to help families lead healthier lives, together with Disney, have teamed up with Denise Lewis to launch a range of new 10 Minute Shake Ups teaching materials.The initiative encourages children to get active this summer, offering fun, 10-minute activities for kids, featuring their favourite Disney characters as inspiration.RELATED: Anthony Joshua Announced as New Sky AmbassadorInspired by six magical Disney stories, 10 Minute Shake Ups have been designed to get kids active as part of Disney's long-term commitment to make healthy living simple and fun by using the strong connections kids have with its stories and characters.Denise stars in a short film developed for the programme and says, "Being active isn't just for Olympians, it's something that everyone - no matter their age, ability or interests - can and should take part in. As a mum, I know how important being a role model is to keeping my family active and healthy. The Change4Life with Disney 10 Minute Shake Ups are a brilliant way to get the whole family moving and fit exercise into our busy lifestyles."Sir Mo Farah was the only Briton to win individual medals at the World Athletics Championships in London, taking 10,000 metres gold and 5,000m silver in his final major event on the track, and the hosts only just achieved their medal target thanks to four relay medals on the final two days of competition.However, there were also a clutch of fourth-placed finishes from up-and-coming athletes, including Laura Muir in the 1500m, Kyle Langford in the 800m, Callum Hawkins in the marathon and Nathaneel Mitchell-Black and Dina Asher-Smith in the 200m."There was a lot of criticism that we didn't convert some of those places, but these youngsters are in their transition, learning what it's like to be in that tough environment," said Lewis, the former Olympic heptathlon champion.And she believes those athletes who just missed out this time will be well placed to make the podium in future championships.
