Brian May for Xerjoff

Brian May has joined forces with Italian luxury perfume brand Xerjoff to launch the Save Me fragrance, benefitting the Save Me Trust with the aim of 'salvaging and safeguarding wildlife'.

The scent features notes of pink pepper, jasmine, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, and musk, and fans can choose between a standard or limited edition bottle, the latter signed by May and Xerjoff founder Sergio Momo.

Named after the band's hit from their 1980 album, The Game, the cologne is said to also have a hint of "sandalwood and badger" in tribute to May's love for the creatures.

The Queen guitarist, who set up the Save Me Trust in 2009, said, "I’m excited about this unique collaboration. My great friend Sergio Momo has, with great generosity, designed a new perfume to benefit wildlife, through the famous company he created - Xerjoff - working with the Save Me Trust. Compassion has never smelled so sweet!"

Announcing the fragrance on social media, the rocker wrote: "SCENT FROM HEAVEN !!! Wild Animal Rescue never smelled so good ! Join Sergio Momo’s launch today! This amazing man is doing something wonderful for animal welfare."

May also spoke about the collaboration and showed off the limited edition signed bottles, which include a picture of a badger and a fox.

The standard bottle is priced at €197 (£177.17), while the mega-fans can nab an autographed 50ml bottle for a whopping €410 (£368.73).

As the Save Me website explains, part of the proceeds from the fragrance will be donated to the Save Me Trust.
